Dr. Rita joined Allied Diagnostics in August 2006, bringing her current 17 years of multi-modality imaging experience to the company.
Originating from Iraq, she graduated from the College of Medicine, Baghdad University, one of oldest universities in the Middle East, in 1991. She joined the Department of Radiology in the College of Medicine, Baghdad University, from 1992.
After completing her postgraduate training in clinical Radiology, she was awarded a fellowship degree for Medical Specializations in Radio-diagnosis in 1998, after which Dr. Rita worked as a specialist radiologist in the Medical City. This teaching hospital of College of Medicine, Baghdad University, is the largest teaching hospital in Iraq. In 2003, she was promoted to Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology. In 2010, she was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR, UK).
She successfully completed training courses in Ultrasound & Doppler studies. She also had MRI training in Germany, Breast MRI training in Spain and CT Virtual Colonoscopy training in Dubai. She has broad experience in imaging modalities which include; MRI, CT, conventional radiology such as fluoroscopic examinations & mammography, Sonography including obstetric ultrasound and Doppler studies.
In addition to the above clinical work, Dr. Rita was involved in teaching & clinical training of undergraduate medical students & postgraduate radio-diagnosis candidates. This role included supervision of postgraduate dissertations & theses in different imaging subjects with participation in the examining committees of postgraduate candidates.
Dr. Rita participated as a lecturer in various training courses for general radiologists on conventional ultrasound, Doppler studies, Breast imaging & spiral CT examinations. She delivered many research presentations on different imaging subjects at conferences. She has over 12 published research papers in different imaging fields.
In 1991, she became a member of the Iraqi Medical association & in 1992 she became a member of the Iraqi Society for Radiologists. Dr. Rita became a member of the Scientific Council of Radio-diagnosis/ The Iraqi Board for Medical Specializations in 2004.
Her area of special interest is in Breast Imaging, Body imaging including with Virtual Colonoscopy, Obstetrics & Gynaecological studies.
